Are we a "stereotyping" generation?

The word stereotype means: A generalization, usually exaggerated or oversimplified and often offensive, that is used to describe or distinguish a group (dictionary.com 2007)

Have you ever been discriminated before? I'm sure most of us have some prior experiences be it in a foreign country or even in your home country. Yesterday, we had a interesting discussion over the topic about discrimination, which means being bias against a certain group or person, due to the fact that he or she is of a different race, religion, culture...etc.

We talked it over a newspaper article which was mainly how the author felt that people in Singapore one way or another have a certain biasness against different people, and he said, he is also guilty of being one of them.

Well, aside from the disussion, we learnt a lot of difficult words that were found in that article such as the word pique: to arouse or provoke.

I would recommend www.dictionary.com to everyone....those who are lazy to turn the pages of the dictionary or thesarus.

All things aside, we are all looking forward to the dinner in Sept,(as IFG isn't gonna meet in Sept; having a break). Thao will be bringing us to a Vietnamese restaurant..either in Holland V or Suntec City..Will keep all posted!!!
