It's time to brush up on our acting skills/ Cultural Adjustments

After last tuesday's meeting, we all felt that we really have to brush up on our acting skills.haah. Winston came up with a game; pick out a slip of paper from the bunch he had, and on it was a word(e.g. disappointed, jovial, astonished...etc.) and the rest of us would have to act out the expression of the word so that the person who chose would be able to guess what the word is. The problem was...what we acted out wasn't as accurate, so the poor person, (which is almost everyone) had a hard time guessing what the word was!!!
Anyway, a round of applause to everyone who participated...it was worth all the laughter:P

Some new words:
1) reserved; not being open about oneself, not revealing much.
2) Jovial: being happy
3) Terrified: Being afraid, or scared

The hardest word to guess was "Reserved". Poor David, he had a hard time guessing! (until we told him the word had a double meaning...you can use it to XXX your book in the library...etc.)

Second part tuesday we had a discussion about the cultural adjustments we all faced living in Singapore. Some interesting ideas brought up was that some of us could not stand the "Kiasu-ism" in Singapore, which is singlish for being afraid to lose out. Some also considered the differences in the walking paces, which is fast in Singapore, and slower in their countries. Well, I think it is all because of the differences in the culture, and also standard of living plays a part here that would affect the things each country values.
