Brand new term!!

Hey Friends~

really apologise for the long disapperance! Thank you for those who have been following this blog - if any! :) Anyway.. IFG is back and rolling again! Guess what? There will be more activities coming up in the month of July to Sep! Conversation Cafe will continue to be held once each month...

Heres' what:

July - we have movie screening

Everyone, please proceeed to Room 2.20 at 6p.m. on 21st and 28th July and join us! I would like to personally welcome new people in our midst - freshman from the hall who have joined us!

August - we have something planned for National Day, as well as another outing... details will be out nearer the date!

September - a whole lot of Games! - Board games and outdoor games etc!

So stay tune!

June-July Updates!!

Hello everyone!

How have all of you been? I know some of you guys are going to have exams soon in the first week of June.. Hope all of you are good!
Anyway, here's what's up for June:

IFG is going to have an OUTING on 6 June, Saturday!

Heres's WHAT: We will be trekking up the Tree Top Walk!!

(It's part of the MacRitchie Reservoir Trails along Thomson Road)




The walk should take about 3-4 hours.

We will be meeting at Bishan MRT at 9.3o am to travel down to Venus Drive along Thomson Road

Conversation Cafe 2

Hey Friends!

It has been awhile! Hope you all had a fantastic Tuesday evening as I did! Hah!~ It was certainly a great to hear your voices and your thoughts on our topic~

"Does Wealth lead to Happiness?"

Are you all challenged yet? To think deeper into the topic, perhaps to even look at your thoughts on what you really feel about what wealth is? And what happiness is?

Other than that, feel free to drop some feedback regarding the session! Hah...here's one: Siraj mentioned that the food can be improved! :D

Ok... and we have certainly missed the presence of Tina: Tina!! Do come to leave a photo with us ok? :)

as well as others. For those who are still busy with your projects, assignments: ALL THE BEST! For those having tests and all: hang in there and study hard!

Special Tribute...

Call me thick-skin... I got 2 photos from Fiona's Facebook to give her a tribute! Yes, you heard me! For those who came last week, you would have known that it was Fiona's last day heading IFG. For that and all the good times, IFG (basically me.. and I am sure all of you as well) would like to send her our love and thanks for all that she has done! Indeed, I am sure that all of you remember the outings and sessions she had organised... Past photos speak for themselves: from Sentosa Underwaterworld to Science Center outing to date and many more... Im sure you all had fun! :D Memories will stay... so will the friendships that were forged. Fiona has given her love to all and sometimes she acts like the big sister taking care of the newbies.

Disclaimer: She is NOT leaving for good but she is moving on to a new phase!

First and foremost... my personal favorite picture of her and Myrtle (YES... Myrtle - the pioneer too! Lots of love to u as well for initiating this club!)

For all you know some coffee talks do lead to something:

IFG is glad to have all those who have come to support the launch of Conversation Cafe on the 7th April! The discussion had been engaging for me and I hope it was so for all those who came!

For those who didnt turn up, the topic we had mused about was:

International Students vs Local Students: Challenges and Issues

Who are more stressed?!

For most of us here, education in Singapore has always been stressful. Isn't it more so for foreign students who come and have to re-adapt themselves on top of juggling with the stressful life of a student here?

Anyway, I hope all of you had something to learn from this discussion. We thank Andy from Student Care (International Students) for making the appearance and providing the food for us!
